Phaser

[Draft 1}

There are many versions of the future,
when you close your eyes.

[ido a call back open your eyes' something like you have to close your eyes when you think of hte future and think about stickig when your eyes as a motif thenn end it with a open your fuking eyes to the truth moment  or like because when I open my eyes i see this horrible shit]

Those kids on the news
telling the world
they demand
a better version of it.

God bless them

The future is unwritten,
until you make it permanent like ink into skin

[Action not words
they have thier phrases
like liberty and freedom
just not for you
liberty and freedom
thiers never you]

what happens, is in the hands of those who hold the future,
hold tight-
choke the shit out those in your way.

the will claim its just a phase
that
you will out grow justice-

to own a car,
to own a big screen
to own a debt at a reasonable interest percentage rate

The future they envision
even in Utopia
even when the Russians,
the Africans Americans
the Javanese,
the Vulcan,
and fuckin' Scotty beamin every ones ass up-

there are still carrying guns-

They still envision a world
that needs guns

still have guns with the choice to kill
or set your phasers to stun....

the choice to kill
the willingness' to kill

the will claim its just a phase
that
you will out grow justice-

Hold together
Hold Strong
Hold that fist in the air

Then swing it like comet racing down from the heavens!

Like the comet
these dinosaur fucks
will never see you coming

impossible to ignore

(B- Side)

Dolores wears a wedding dress of see through ivory lace and chiffon,
tall white laced boots, as her groom arrives by horse.

Aileen buys a Cranberries cd at the Northridge Mall, while on our
class field trip. She unwraps it on the bus. I am in love with her friend.

Boy George ruins Linger for me
with a juvenile remark in a magazine.
Fuck him.

Rogin blast enemies on the arcade screen, singing "and your
tanks and bombs and your guns" in the doughnut shop.

And eternally, Elton will be unable to find his CD, raises his hand and
asks to go to the quad before somebody snags it.
As if.

There are

(Short Poem Series)

There are really only three
things a true writer needs-

1) a pen
(preferably, a good one)

2) paper
(so you don't forget what you wanted to say)

3) something to write about-
(?)

Two out of three ain't bad

In the dark

(Short poem series)

In the dark,
she shed some clothes-

And with
it
sheds light
on the
last mystery.

Arggg

what is that sound you are makin?
should we be concerned?
is there someone we should call?

beyond our
control
a technical difficulty
glitchy
buggy

It sounded like
It reminds me of

Well now
get better soon

but really
you should get that
checked out

what was that?
come again
once more with feeling now...

"Arggggg"

Mr. KnowItAll

I've made it my business,
to know.

To know architecture,
books, movies and music.

To know art,
politics, technology and history

To know how to speak to the
 intellectual and the vapid.

I've made it my business to be
a real know it all.

So, when anyone asks,
"Why do you know so much?"

I tell 'em simply.

"When you're beautiful and rich,
you don't need to know anything."

This Also And

This,
Also,
And-

All absorb
Time.

Give Nothing.

Attach

This Nothing
Also Nothing
And Nothing.

Yes Sir, No Sir

I have a problem with authority.

I see my fathers face in:

Principals,
Police,
Popes, Priests and Nuns,
n'
Parking attendants-

My father would
beat me
mercilessly.

No Sir,
Yes Sir-

Telling
What to do-
How to do it
and
How I was fucking it up-

I have a problem with authority.
Yes sir.

I have a problem with:

Control
Power
Abuse

Yes Sir, No sir.

And now it is my turn
to tell others
what to do,
how to it
and
how they are  fuckin it up.

I do not see my fathers face in them-
No sir.

I see my
face as a child.

 And with

Kindness
Compassion
and
Patience

remind them
its okay to make mistakes
its how we learn
its how we grow

I have become the father
I never had, to children who not mine-

so that they do not grow to
resent in anger.

No sir ree bob.
